the MAN is no myth. His name is Janus Primm Fitzpatrick

You have no doubt heard about the MAN. He is the Great Oppressor. The intangible force in our lives that holds us back. That keeps us from achieving our dreams. That is using everyone. Manipulating everyone.

He exists.

I know what you're thinking. "The MAN isn't real. He's just a joke. He's just a nickname for the boss down the hall. Or the president." Well, the truth is this. The MAN isn't your boss. He's not the governor, the chief of police, or the president. Although they all work for the MAN.

And maybe you're one of the smart ones who is wise to the existance of the MAN. You've noticed how you've been mysteriously passed over for that promotion. Or how the hostess at the restaurant had no available table for the likes of you. Or how that car you were buying from the dealership was sold out from under you. You've noticed the dirty fingerprints of the Great Oppressor on your life.

But if you think you've seen the MAN, you're most likely wrong. The MAN has rarely been seen by anybody with the exception of his top ranking lackeys. People like Ted Turner, Boutrose Boutrose Ghali, Michael Eisenberg, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, David Brinkley, Michael Jordan, Yasser Arafat, and Prince Charles.

It's exactly this reason, his anonymity, that he has managed to stay in power for so long, ruling every major corporation, government, and dynasty from behind a network of communications technology and high-powered global relationships.

But we have not been so blind. All the phony elections. The carefully calculated mergers and takeovers. The plane crashes. The hurricanes. AIDs. We have watched as the MAN has had his way with the world. We watched until we could watch no longer. It became our obsession. Our destiny. Our duty to mankind to uncover and expose the MAN for what he really is.

But we were not prepared for what we would discover.

We are known simply as the Autonomous Collective. Over the years, we have gathered together as a result of our shared experiences. At first, we were relieved to find others that believed in the MAN as we did. But our relief soon turned to paranoia, convinced that the only reason we were together was becasue the MAN wanted us to be. That he was planning our painful demise only after he teased us with hope.

But we were determined to stay together. And over time we were able to confirm that the MAN did not know of us. We had somehow eluded detection. And as time wore on, we became more sophisticated, more organized, more determined.

We began carefully tracing the trail of power. Plotting it's course with maps and charts. Calculating the possibilities with dozens of computers. Our spy network was growing. And then one day, we got our lucky break.

One of our operatives was in the White House during the Bush administration. She was very close to the President. Always with her eyes wide open. And then it happened. President Bush received a phone call from a Richard Shipley about three months before the Gulf War. Shipley was somebody our operative had never heard of before. So she immediately began tracing the call.

Two years later that lead ended up outside a massive estate in Switzerland. The estate belongs to the Nakatomi Corporation. But its main resident is a man named Janus Primm Fitzpatrick, a.k.a. the MAN.

We were not prepared for what we were about to learn.
