Dear
Pete. Thanks for the props. I talked with your Master, Mr. Mark
Torres. It looks like I'm going to be on the show May 31st. Thanks
for the invite. Right now I have no idea what I'm going to talk
about it but I'll probably just make it up as I go along. The story
of my misdirected life.
RE:

Dear PositiveBrand. HEY THANKS FOR SENDING THE GRAVE MISTACKES COMIC
FOR ME TO READ. I HAVE TO SAY I LOVED IT AND TOTALLY DIG YOUR ART...THANKS
--JJ
Dear
PositiveBrand. It looks great. Looking forward to see what happens
next. That´s one cold killer.
--M.M.
Dear
PositiveBrand. Upon reading your moody, crackerjack serialized detective
yarn "Dark Dallas", our Chief Assistant Vice-President
Of New Comics Reading Department, Dr. Hieronymus "Zip"
Bingosky, erupted in delight with a full four Monkey Thumb Rating.
His diapers were changed without incident.
Good Day,
S.M. Coronado
Co-Captain,
Mimeograph Department
Studio Gulag
Dear S.M. Thanks for the monkey thumbs. That Zip knows his stuff.

RE:
Batman Meets Dick Tracy
Dear PositiveBrand. Batman Meets Dick Tracy is really cool!! Great
concept, and yes--I do dig the inks!!!!
--Mike
Dear
PositiveBrand. The Batman Meets Dick Tracy story looks really interesting.
Love the ink. Let me know when the next part is up.
--M.M.
Dear
PositiveBrand. So far so GREAT! the inks are the BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!
--Jim
Dear
PositiveBrand. Really great art and concept. The art makes me think
Frank Miller meets Bill Scienkweicz. I'm a huge Dick Tracy Fan.
I've had two phone book size collections of the original Chester
Gould strips since I was 7. They never leave my shelf. Let me know
if you ever get this printed! Thanks
-- The Kosmix
Dear
Kosmix, I'm glad you like the story. Tommy Davidson provided the
inks and it's dynamite stuff. This is part one of a two part story.
Part two will be out later this year (2007) online but this story
won't see print. Sorry. It's simply a fan story so there's no way
for us to sell copies and recoup the printing costs. So
get your fill online right here.
RE:
Daniel Crosier's Art (The Zombie, The Land of Andrak, Sons of Soil)
Dear PositiveBrand. Cool stuff! Thanks for showing me Sons of Soil!
I like Daniel's style of painting! It looks like he paints on wood.
-- Blake
Dear
PositiveBrand. Loved "Sons of Soil". really creepy and
weird. and the art is top notch. great work.
-- Eric
Dear
PositiveBrand. Saw the "Sons of Soil" comic - DIG IT!
-- Michelle
Dear
PositiveBrand. Daniel Crosier's artwork rocks! Right on man! Something
new and unique!
-- Josh
Dear
Josh, I couldn't agree more. Daniel is a fantastic artist and writer
as well as an accomplished filmmaker. We're fortunate to be able
to include an artist of his caliber in the work we produce here.
If you haven't checked out his covers, scope our homepage
and don't leave the site without seeing his Sons
of Soil Movie Prequel Comic here.
RE:
Donners Superman
Dear PositiveBrand. Right on man! I think you article was one of
the best expressed comments about a movie or a subject on the Internet
that I have ever read and being a college level computer instructor
and computer consultant with my own business, I kow what I'm talking
about. I was able to get the Ultimate Superman Collections as a
gift from my daughter and having the complete 14 DVD set is one
of the best gifts one could ever receive (especially from one's
daughter). So having both versions of the 2nd movies and after reading
your review, I had a good reason not to watch both of them back
to back. By the way, are there any special things that need to be
said about both or either of the versions of the 1st movies or of
some of the differences between them? If so, please give me a reply
and thanks again for the review.
-- Robert
Dear
Robert, I'm sure that Ultimate Superman Collection put your daughter
back a pretty penny. They're asking for a big chunk of change for
that set. You must be giving your daughter a hefty allowance and
even still, it was very generous on her part. I'm not sure what
the differences there are (if any) betwen the versions of the 1st
Superman movie. But considering your daughter's investment in your
movie watching enjoyment, I recommend you watch both versions back
to back with a considerable amount of attention. You'll want to
soak in every bit of nuance on every one of those DVDs just to demonstrate
your gratitude to your daughter. And once you're done, you'll please
drop me an email and let me know what those differences are. Natch,
I'm sure.
RE:
Toy Museum
Dear PositiveBrand. Right on, man. You've introduced me to a new
mecca. One I desperately want to visit. My husband and I collect
toys, models and such. It strikes me as the sort of thing that would
have me keel over and drool on the floor (which would make a lovely
photo). Many thanks for a holiday destination. BTW, do they have
an alarm system installed? I could gush more but I'll wait for the
thrill of seeing it first hand. Any Spice Girls figures in the mix,
punched out, knife weilding and their greatest weapon, the much
neglected song catalogue. Perhaps a My Little Pony section. I envision
"Saint of Killers" from the Preacher comic series riding
from job to job, guns on hand; perhaps a pink horse because real
men ride pink horses. Anyhow, that's my playing with action figures
scenario, and I stand by it.
-- Terri
Dear
Terri, it was twisted fantasies just like yours that lead to the
creation of the Action Figure Museum. I'm sure you'll feel right
at home once you get there. I'm not sure I would recommend testing
the alarm system, though. I've read too many comic books and watched
too much Twilight Zone. I'm pretty sure breaking into the Action
Figure Museum under the cover of night would only result in bringing
all of those action figures to life with one purpose... destroy
the evil intruders. It could ugly. They have a Cave Troll. And a
Balroc for that matter. Anyhow, that's my playing with action figures
scenario and I stand by it.
RE:
October Comics
Dear PositiveBrand. You suck! I found Irredeemable Ant-Man to be
very fast-paced, actually. You'll thank Kirkman for at least taking
the time to introduce these characters when half of them are slaughtered
in issue 2, I bet.
--
Kirkman's Mother
Dear
Kirkman's Mother, calling Ant-Man very fast-paced is like calling
the line at the Texas State Title and Registration Office an express
lane. While I appreciate solid character development, I prefer to
have it developed during the action instead of preceding the action.
Mark Millar is excellent at this approach where he will have his
characters completely involved in some kind of deadly activity that
he uses to reveal the character of his characters by the way they
respond and deal with the intensity of their situation. Kirkman
did it with Marvel Zombies. It's not like he can't do it. I just
think he spent too much time lollygaggin' on this one. That's all.
RE:
Warriors
Dear Afro Thunder. You suck!
--Nameless
Dear
Nameless, come out to play-a-yay. 'Cause that's what this is all
about. Just a little fun with me and my homeboys, seventies style.
So if you're not chillin', you're illin'.
RE:
Coolest Character in Comics
Right on, man. Grayson is the BEST!!!! Long live Nightwing!!!
-- Jean
Right
on, man. This is the best written review of a fictional character
I have ever read. It shows you have put a lot of thought, effort,
and time on this awesome awesome job.
--Unknown
Right
on, man. You're a genius.
--Insightful
We
received numerous letters of agreement with our article about the
Coolest Character in Comics. We thought we made a pretty convincing
case so "thank you" to all of you Dick Grayson fans out
there who have seen the light. But despite our best efforts, we
haven't been able to convince everyone. And that's okay. That's
life. Consider for example why Windows has beat out Macintosh as
the most popular (or common) PC platform. Or why VHS beat out Beta
back in the day. Just look at the popularity of professional wrestling.
All of this is just proof that what is right and best is not always
most popular. We conducted an onsite poll to findout exactly how
the big boys of comics stack up. Unfortunately Dick Grayson was
not at the top of the list. He came in third place with 12% of the
vote. First place was poned by Spider-Man with a whopping 21.7%.
Tied for second place (which seems somehow fitting) is Batman and
Wolverine, each with 20.5% of the popular vote to their names. Captain
America was completely defeated at the bottom of the list with only
2.4%. How uncool is that? Adding insult to injury are the numerous
comments of disagreement we received about this article as seen
in the following excerpts.
Grayson's
pretty cool but there's a lot of others who outdo him in it, assuming
you're willing to search a bit. Take John Gaunt, AKA Grimjack. Incredibly
tough guy who's greatest asset is simply that he really knows the
city he lives in. I could talk about what makes him cool for a while,
but the best way to sum it all up is simply to mention that when
he was died he walked out of heaven knowing he could never come
back in order to save a friend.
--Grimjack Lover
You
suck! Yo, Mike, what's up with Dick Grayson being the coolest character
in comics? That's just ridiculous. For crying out loud, he's the
kid that says "Holy Flooding Water Tank Batman, we're about
to drown!" How is that anywhere near cool? It's just childish
and stupid. Also, Wolverine kicks ass, and he's totally fun to be
around with all his swearing, smoking, and drinking, I mean, who
doesn't want to hang out with that kind of person. Well, I hope
you realize your mistake and write another article apologizing to
me, UltimateRuler934.
--UltimateRuler934
pfft!...
Tim will always be cooler than Dick.
--Tim
RE:
Venture Bros & Jonny Quest
Right
on, man. I'm down with allthat. You said it right. Just, you should
have included more on the villains. I like the Monarch, and Mr.
Wendesday.
--Jonas Jr. or JJ
JJ,
your words have the ring of righteousness to them. Glad you're hip
to the power that is Jonny Quest. Sorry to disappoint you in the
area of villains. It's a fair comment. Although, as good as the
villains are, none compare to the genius that is the Tic's Mad Bomber
What Bombs at Midnight. He's the all time best wacky villain ever.
Anyway, keep it real. Don't you go changin'.
RE:
The Arena, Issue 1
Thank you!
--Samuel
Um...
you're welcome. I think this issue did something extra special for
Sammy. Although I am loathe to guess what exactly. At any rate,
we received a fantastic, positive response to our latest serial,
The Arena. The Thanks really go to the creative team of Terry Heronime
(writer), Mike Heronime (pencils), and Peter Palmiotti (inks). A
few other comments follow.
Great
work!
--Betty
Nice
site!
--Cindy
Right
on, man. Great lines, shadows. Hope to see more. Franco
--Franco Gurskis, republic of desire
RE:
Batman Year 100
Who cares? MEH.
--Indifferent
Aww...
Indifferent, your attitude is so, uh, indifferent. Which is a shame
really. This series absolutely kicks ass. Art and story were perfect
every step of the way. All comics should be as entertaining. Please
tell me you were just kidding. Or you thought the review was just
"meh" and not Batman Year 100. Yeah, that's got to be
it. Hey, wait a sec...
